Requirements to obtain a Police Certificate of Character from Guyana:

• Completed Police Certificate of Character Form (Form can be uplifted free of charge from the Consulate)
• Three recent passport – sized photographs dated and stamped
• Complete set of fingerprints (taken at the International Fingerprinting Services, Tel.416 293 2030 or 416 293 1218)
• Copy of valid passport bio data page and Birth Certificate
• Fee : Money order of ($10) CND made payable to the Commissioner of Police, Cooperative Republic of Guyana.

Procedure

• The requirements listed above can be submitted by a relative or friend in Guyana to the Police Headquarters, Eve Leary on the applicant’s behalf. By this method, the Police Certificate of Character can be obtained within a week by the authorised person. In this case the fee is Guy$500.00, and is paid to the Commissioner of Police in Guyana
• If the applicant has no one in Guyana to submit the application on their behalf, it may be submitted through the Consulate. In this case a fee of $10.00 CND must be paid in the form of an international money order payable to the Commissioner of Police. This method however takes longer, sometimes two (2) to three (3) months.
